When my countdown has timed pu, the sound no longer works. I've tried everything and every setting, anyone had this problem or got any ideas?

forgive me for asking the obvious but you say it no longer works. i presume it once did?
and i know you said that you've tried everything and every setting but, just to be sure, did you check the settings here?
menu > settings > sound & display > media volume
i think that was the way into the menu but i'm now running 2.2 and can't remember.
