Help Couple issues/Problems - Connections and SDCard

Okay, so I have a couple issues that I feel should be able to be fixed, but am slightly disappointed in.

1. Connecting my tab WITH an SD card to any computer should recognize the mass storage device but doesn't. It does with my Tbolt. Is there any way to make this happen? If not, thats one point down for Samsung.

2. Somehow, I can't access my SD card from the device via EFS File Explorer. OR even mount it on my computer to transfer files.

Any ideas to the above?

I solved on my mac by downloading pc skies. It comes included on your tab, but you also need it for computer or mac. It is suppose to work via wifi or usb, but found out it does not work via wifi with tab 2. So with wifi turned off, i connect to computer via usb, start of the computer program and then start app on tab. It will say it is connected via usb. It may take a minute or so to connect, but once it does, you can go through all your directories and you can transfer files. Too bad airdroid doesnt work with tab.

It would help us to answer correctly, if you can indicate what PC/laptop you have and which OS?

I have a 2year old Toshiba Satellite L455 running Windows 7. Initially when I connected my Tab 2 to my Laptop, without any power it was not recognised. Then I switched on my Tab 2, and after atleast a minute or so, it showed up in my Windows Explorer, with the name I gave it GT-P3113.
When I clicked on the name, the Autoplay window popped up, and I chose Display files, which showed Card and Tablet in the left panel. I clicked on Card, when all the Folders show up.

I was able to COPY to/from the Card with no problems.

First make sure your OS is uptodate with the required software/drivers related to Samsung.

Hope this helps and Good luck.

WiFi File Explorer PRO. This app is much better than pc skies. Can easily transfer, copy, move, etc from any directory or sd card with ease. It has no problem seeing the external sd card. It sees one sd card which is actually internal memory, and also sees the other ext-sd card which is the external one.

My tab is not being recognized on my macbook pro. I've downloaded kies and android file transfer, but the tab doesn't even show up as a usb device when connected. When connected the network preferences open up, but nothing in finder

I have MTP checked and have tried turning usb debugging on and off.

Can anyone help with this?

1. It shows up as a MTP device. Once you click on that, it shows your internal storage and external storage (SD card if installed) as additional drives. You can drag and drop after that.

2. The SD Card in ES File Explorer requires that you go to settings and enable a setting to go to the root directory. Once you do that, go up a directory and then navigate to mnt/externalSdCard.
