Help Couple Issues

I am hoping someone can help before I lose my mind and you read about me in the paper, lol.

Adding ring tones...in all other Android devices I have owned, you could simply create a Media folder, under that an Audio Folder, then under that, Ringtones, Notifications, Alarms, ect. folders...drop the file in one of those directories and boom, ringtone, notification, ect shows up in the list. On the DNA, however, this does not work.

I did noticed, using Astro File Manager that there is also a Ringtone folder, Notification Folder, ect not under a Media Folder, so I tried putting the ringtones in there...still does not work. I went into Sounds, then to add, and I see the ringtones, however, when I try to add them, nothing happens. Now the even more aggravating part, I delete the ringtones that I added via Astro, however, they still show in the add menu under tones!!?? How do I clear them from the add menu? When I tried to add them, were they added somewhere else in the phone that I cannot see?

Now, if I download a ringtone and leave it in the downloads folder, I can use the add feature in the sound menu and they work fine. What is going on?

Next, when looking at linked contacts, some of them show two facebook contacts as being linked when there truly is only one contact?? I thought maybe it had something to do with me manually linking contacts, so I simply let the system auto sync and it still shows two facebook contacts for some of my phone contacts, not to mention ALL the facebook contacts on the dialer screen even if I have the option to show facebook contacts un-checked.

I appreciate your help, thanks!

For your ringtone issue, if they're in those Ringtones / Notifications folders on the "root", you don't have to do anything to manually add them, they will just display in the list of Ringtones or notification sounds (AFAIK).

Go to your music app. It will populate with all the playable audio files you have under "songs". From there, simply hit the little ellipses and select "set as ringtone". From there you can trim the file, use the whole audio file as a ringtone, etc. After that, it should be permanently added to your ringtones.

For some reason this phone is glacially slow at scanning new media that's dropped onto storage under some circumstances. I've added ringtones by downloading them directly from Dropbox and they show up immediately. Stuff I've copied via USB or wireless transfer won't show up for hours, or sometimes until I reboot.

The solution, at least for me, was to download an app called Rescan Media and run it after adding files manually. This made songs show up quickly in the Music Player and ringtones show up in the ringtones list.

It may be HTC phones in general. The Evo LTE had a similar problem on Sprint. Not sure if I would actually call it a problem, more of a nuisance. After moving files from internal to SD, it took about 30 seconds for gallery to update to say that it wasn't on internal anymore. Not sure if it only affects certain devices or not though since I haven't had any issues with my DNA personally.
