Couple questions because Im considering getting an M8.

Was seriously considering this phone. I have a Droid RAZR now, and had a HTC Incredible before this, so I have faith in HTC. I'm sort of torn between the HTC1 M8 and the Galaxy S5. The main reason I am torn is because I was reading the camera on the HTC was god awful. It really disappointed me because I want to be able to take good, clear pictures at a decent size. Just how bad is it and is there a fix for these issues?

My other questions are:
Does it shoot video in 1080p?
Does it have a mini-SD slot?
Does it overheat easily?
Is the S5 a better choice? I heard the casing rattles when the speakers are up loud. My sister had previous Galaxy S phones and always had a world of problems with them including not getting texts for a while and it freezing on her. My main fear about the S5 (aside from the plastic speaker issue) is that there will be too many features I won't care about or use and they'll just suck up RAM and resources that could be going to other things. Is the antenna better on the Galaxy than the HTC? I'm really leaning towards HTC and that's why I posted it here. What are the pros and coins of each? I use my phones for music, and most of my web browsing, pictures, and video, so these are things that are important to me. I'm just torn and I've read several different comparisons, but figured I'd ask here and get some more input.

Hi Jim. I can't judge the S5 for I've not owned one. I can speak highly of the M8. It is a very solid build and stable phone. I'm not a game player but I've never had any heat issues with this phone. It does have a micro SD slot, not a mini. The sense interface is very smooth. I loved the Incredible... the M8 so much more. :) If you have camera concerns, here is a link to the thread where we have discussed it.

You might also try out our device/carrier comparison forum for a more rounded comparison of the two phones. Here is a link to that area:

Good luck and I hope you enjoy the phone you ultimately upgrade to.

That replicates my usage pattern almost to the T except I don't take many pictures.

Let's see now... as far as music goes the Boomsound speakers and excellent screen ratio add a new dimension to my YouTube viewing. Stereo is good, separation is very noticeable depending on what your listening to or watching. My web browsing experience has been very good as well. Pictures look sharp and clear and video is very smooth. I have no regrets about my purchase.
