CPU at 100% while screen is off

I'm running Usage Timeline Free to get an idea of how much the processor is running. Lately I can see that when the screen has been locked and off, the past CPU use is pegged at 100%. As soon as I unlock the phone, it drops down to something more normal. Has anyone else experienced something like this?

It might be picking up the power saver core as running at 100%, not the main CPUs? Does it eat into battery life?

Can you try an app like quick system info pro to verify your findings with the other app?
