Root CPU Clock speeds not sticking?

I seem to be having trouble getting my CPU clock speeds set in Kernel Tuner.

I was using the Antrax kernel but my phone kept rebooting randomly(No matter what the CPU speed was set to), So I went to the buttered toast kernel. Ever since then, Every time I set the CPU clock speed to whatever speed I want, After 5-15 mins in sleep mode it turns itself back up to the max speed that is allowed(1728 Mhz). I have reset it back to what I want many times and tried to reboot the phone to try to get the settings to stick, With no luck. I am currently using the Harmonia 3.17 ROM.

The Antrax or MAC kernels dont seem to be having these issues for me. The only reason why I am not going back to the MAC kernel is for the OTG(Cant seem to get OTG working with the MAC kernel even though it says its OTG capable).

Anyone else come across this problem? Any way to fix?

Edit: Hmmm. Now that I am back to the anthrax kernel, It seems its resetting itself to 1536 mhz by itself also.. Its not the max allowed(Max is 1728).. But why does it keep changing by itself?! It used to never do this.

HERE WE GO WITH THE REBOOTS AGAIN! T_T

BTW I am using Anthrax Kernel version CDMA_Anthrax-shooter-3.2.2 Because I cannot get the universal version of 3.7 to work. My phone just bootloops. The version of Buttered toast I am using is ButteredToast-RLS16.

Strange, I haven't had any issues in a few months, when kernel tuner first came out I had some problems with the frequencies sticking but that was quite awhile ago, do you have this on all roms? I'm currently using Unlocked Potential HD with Anthrax 3.7 as my daily, I might have a random reboot once or twice a week, that's probably more to do with all of the flashing that I do, plus having 120+ apps installed. I'm running 384-1.566 on both cores with conservative governors.

I can't run Anthrax more than 20 minutes without a reboot.:(
That being said, I never had a problem with CPU settings sticking. Are you backing out of kernel tuner after the changes or do you just hit the home button? I've noticed that playing around with some of the dual core settings in kernel tuner don't stick unless you check mark that box in settings " prevent changes from other apps" and then set your frequencies, then back out of the app. Make sure you see that statement about super user as well.

Back to the Buttered Toast kernel.. Well, I have only had one time all day where I noticed the CPU frequency changed back to the max. I set it to 1404Mhz and it seemed to stick there for at least half the day. I try to leave it on 1188 when at work or something so I can make the battery last as long as I can but still have it ready when I need it quick, But it was having problems there. I may have to just leave it at 1.4Ghz after trying it today. Btw thanks for suggesting backing out instead of clicking home, But sadly I tried that yesterday to see if that was the problem and it still did it.

Btw, There was an update to kernel tuner yesterday or the day before, I doubt it, But it could be the problem.

Edit: Also, I was flashing ROMS the other day, But I wasnt on them long enough to see if this problem was in other ROMs. I may have to try that to see if it works, But then I lose my OTG :(

Well, It doesnt stick in other ROMs too. I think its Kernel Tuner itself. I flashed to a different ROM that had kernel tuner installed on it, And before I updated, It seemed to work fine. Didnt have any resetting to max clock speeds. I am going to see if I can find an older .APK of kernel tuner and install that one, And see if that cures it all.

Anyone else have any Ideas?

Try another app like system tuner to see if that works, if not you probably have a script running that is screwing with you. :D

Not usually, that's what has me confused, and not sleeping for the last 30 hours. Have you tried un installing kernel tuner and using system tuner instead? :banghead:

Well, I havent had a chance to install a different kernel tuner app, But today I havent had any resetting, Even with changing speeds myself. It never seemed to have a problem at all.

BTW, Not one random reboot on Buttered toast. Idk what it is about Antrax on my phone, But it doesnt like me. Looks like I am sticking with this kernel now that I know it seems to be working.

I will let you guys know if it acts up again. I hope it doesnt. Thanks for the help though! :p

Well, I spoke too soon. its resetting itself once again. finally uninstalled kernel tuner and installed no-frills.

lets see if it happens again..

:banghead:

Well, Its got to be something going on in the phone. Using both system tuner and no frills both have the same problem. ughhhhhhh
