CPU speed in Gio

I have seen on Samsungs homepage that the Gio model has a clock speed of 800 Mhz. I am using Rom Manager for a while and with it I see that the clock speed is about 240 Mhz. As my phone is rooted I can with that program change the speed up to 800 Mhz.
It sometimes falls back to 240 Mhz and I adjust it again.
Even I change the speed I can not see a better performance.

My question is, is Rom Manager showing the right clock speed and if it is true, then why Samsung had set the clock speed to 240 and advertise that it tuns on 800 Mhz?

Our Gio isn't officially supported by Rom manager so don't try to flash the CWM from Rom manager also the speed i think is wrong.U can use SetCPU for CPU speed but u need a custom kernel The speed of our gio is 800mhz so rom manager is showing the clock speed wrong.

Thanks for the answer. So you mean that the speed of 800 Mhz is always there, and if I want a higher speed then I need to add a new kernel? How much more speed can we get for Gio?
That program shows a maximum and a minimum, does it mean that the phone it self adjusts the speed base on what it is needed to run some apps/games?
Can you show me a link telling how to find and add a custom kernel?

Yes the 800mhz speed is always there but only when the phone needs it,it selfs adjust the clock speed depending of the scaling governor(eg:in games).The stable clock speed for me is 960mhz but your could be smaller or higher.

P.S-u can brick your phone flashing wrong a kernel/rom.
