Cpu Speed

funkylogik

share the love peeps ;)
Hi
Ive just put Swedish Spring on my Sf and was wondering how high i can/should set the Cpu speed for performance without damaging anything?
Cheers

I don't like anything above 40 degrees. I'm not entirely sure there's anyway to measure CPU temp, I think it's battery temp most tools look at.

Be aware, 729 might seem fine now, but it may slowly be killing the CPU. There's no point in going overboard, if a lower frequency means your phone does everything it's supposed too and a reasonable speed, there's not point in OC'ing to the max just for the sake of it. I'm very cautious when it comes to overclocking though (coming from bad experiences when I used to be a heavily in to PC Gaming :p).

I would check out Stability Test from Market......

it is a stress test tool.....

run it in root mode.....

it will also give CPU temp.

I would not OC to over 710....

if you get that..... your doing well IMHO.

thanks guys
how long should the stability test run for?
just tested at 729 for 12minutes without anything crashing but phone was realy slow while it was running+i got bored+stopped it.
think il keep it at 691mhz though. its fast enough at that. whats a good minimum frequency to set?

cheers m8
do u know what "throughput" and "latency" are?

Throughput is defined as the amount of data per second that can flow between two endpoints.

Latency is defined as the round-trip-time between two endpoints (regardless of the amount of throughput).

Not my definitions btw, again it was the simplest I could find. :p
