CPU-Z for Android

Looks good man thanks. Maybe a bit complex for me lol. Ive always used No Frills CPU because its simple :)
EDIT ahh i though it was a cpu controller. its a monitor. A pretty good one

Its nice watching my cores all jump from 400MHz to 1200 as soon as i touch the screen :) project butter in action

Hmm why has core2 "stopped"? uploadfromtaptalk1371212506513.jpg
Is that normal? What would cause that?

Thanks buddy. The thing is, even with "performance" governor which should set all cores to max speed, the rest sat at 1700mhz and that core stayed stopped until i did a reboot. Do you think its nothing to worry about mate?

Oh ps, i was playin with a Note 2 in a store today and wow i want one. It was black and looks so good and even with it running touchwiz and being unmodded, it was really fast :)

Thanks, definitely going to load this on my Note 2 and 10.1. Wonder if you can post results and get a banner to add it to the signature like the Windows counterpart just for the heck of it... LOL.

Can i reccomend CPU Spy in conjunction with this for a chart of what how much each frequency scale has been used

They dont get that hot mate tbh. I keep an eye on core temp' and i dont worry until it gets to around 55

Yeah love my note 2. I use it alot for work and just everyday things. I'm running rooted on a jellybean Rom I made. It is pretty basic but I tweaked the things I use a lot and it seems to be just as fat and berry life rocks

Yeh, same thing 4 me. Although, I think it's simply becuz 1 core is sufficient [for the apps, services, etc. at the moment].

The thing that really "burns' my butt is how much memory is being taken up by all these MetroPCS apps [only 25% free] - installed as "SYSTEM" - that can not be easily disabled/removed. But, this ;) is well covered in other threads!

If its not needed, there's no reason for the core to be on.

That's entirely normal

I'm not entirely sure what all the craze is about for this app. I've seen it everywhere lately

It's just handy that's all. There are plenty of other apps that cud probably provide the same info.

FYI, sorry, about my cross-post, or whatever U call it. My laptop wireless goes into slo-mo sometimes. We ended up posting the same message.

I reinstalled CPU Spy (used to use it a lot but id forgotten it lol) and as soon as i did, CPU-Z just force closes so i uninstalled that. Tbh, it looks impressive watching the sensors work in real-time but isnt very useful compared to cpu spy

That's the thing, there are lots of them, even other ones that do real time.

I guess this one doesn't require root, so its a new concept to all of the non-rooters?

Im overclocked to 1700MHz but in the past 3 n a half hours, the cpu has got nowhere near that speed :) all ive been doing is AF and FB so its understandable but it just shows that some devices are really overpowered for what theyre actualy used for.
Even on this chart, the 1200MHz step is only so highly used because i have the kernel set to jump to 1200 instead of 800 as soon as i touch the screen (bad for battery, good for butteryness) :)

Can u elaborate on this? I was not aware of whether it needed root or not. [I'm rooted] Can u recommend an app that does real time?

EDIT: Here is https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jasoncalhoun.android.systeminfowidget&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5qYXNvbmNhbGhvdW4uYW5kcm9pZC5zeXN0ZW1pbmZvd2lkZ2V0Il0.. I'm not sure if it's good, bad, or somewhere in between?

Think i used to use SystemPanel back in the day when i was testing cpu governors to see how fast the cpu speed changed with touch and movement in real time. This was before jellybean and "project butter" though

I havent tried it but i know most realtime monitors use a chunk of your cpu constantly and therefore drain battery and hog resources while being used so i wouldnt recommend any kind of widget thats constantly updating mate
I used to use an app that put CPU % in the statusbar and it was a real battery hog

P.s. check out Micro CPU Monitor. It puts a TINY realtime chart at the top or bottom of the screen showing what the cores are doing. Its constantly there no matter what app youre on. I like it for testing how hungry some apps are

Quick system info pro will put it in your status bar/notification pulldown

I know there's plenty of others as well

"funkylogik" last post voice concern about how much CPU, memory, etc. wud be taken up with an app that keep U notified in real time. Is that an issue with an app like this?

Absolutely. Any app running on the background is going to use CPU cycles and more battery than if it weren't running

That's the nature of the beast.

Hmm, well, right now, CPU and battery I have. It's memory I'm short on. So, if this app does not use up much memory, it's fine by me.

Hey sorry guys I just saw Moore have been replying on here. I'm on the road right now got work but I'll comment Moore when I get home. Hope your all's father's days were good
