Did anyone notice that the motions cpu is clocked at 1.5 ghz, not 1.2?

Hmm my screens won't post through tapatalk tonight zzz

There suppose to be clocked at 1.5 but metro underclocked it to 1.2.

Check antutu system info and quadrant device info. They are 1.5 ghz. My motion is at least lol.

Mine is also running at 1.5ghz

Dewolfe

It could be as simply there is a batch of Motions out there that have top end CPU's. When manufacturing a CPU its some times possible to have a batch that preforms will above standard. Normal these are cherry picked from the batch and sold as "higher end parts"

From what some of the reports claimed that is basically what happened here. They took a 1.5ghz processor and capped it at 1.2ghz to save power/heat/etc.

Since this is simply a kernel level adjustment, I'd take a guess that either someone decided to change this at the last moment and Metro never bothered to update their information, or someone screwed up and didn't tell the phone's kernel that it was supposed to be running at 1.2gphz.

i got one from the first batch an it is indeed 1.5GHz , than i just ran it on the 2nd batch of phones we got it , it said 1.2GHz

Does the new ones score in the 5300's in quadrant?im just trying to find out if we really have 1.5 or if its a false reading somehow

I wonder, will the firmware bring the 1.2 to 1.5???

I don't think this is something we need to worry about. While they could "fix it" and underclock it to 1.2 ghz with an update, lg updates are done through the lg updater tool on the computer. They aren't forced on us as an ota.

If you don't want the update when it comes, chances are it won't be forced. I don't see any reason to update at this point anyways, unless the update will add features or jellybean, I'm not interested. I'll keep things the way they are.

Sorry to those of you that are or will be stuck with a 1.2 ghz motion. :(:p

Edit: now that I'm thinking about it.. Maybe zva was forced on me on my Connect. I can't remember.. Zzz the better not mess with my clock speeds! Lol

I'm talking about the firmware LG already has up and I linked in the ATR subforum already. If you flashed it, I wonder if it would either change 1.2 Ghz to 1.5 GHz or vice versa.....I'm not talking about updates, I'm talking about flashing current firmware.....there may be two versions of this firmware already if some phones are clocked at 1.2 and others at 1.5
If that's true, then I need a 1.5 clocked phone S/N and a 1.2 clocked serial number and see if the links are the same or not.....

Or LG made a simple mistake and already got rid of any 1.5 GHz clocked firmware...which would really suck.

A custom kernel should fix that either way.

And considering the processor, I'm sure people will be trying to push it even further.

Damn Sammy, is your period key sticking? :p

I understand what you mean. I was just meaning in general, concerning updates and their potential for mucking around with the clock speeds. I don't intend on flashing the firmware available to find out haha.

I will assist you in figuring out what you wanna know though. Pm, or respond with what you want me to do.

No, I just like dots xD and it would only help if you have a 1.2 clocked phone and flash the firmware from the link. This would clock you higher or leave you at 1.2 if you have a 1.2 clocked phone. If you have a 1.5 clocked phone, then you can't really help unless you want to try to underclock....or give me your serial number if it is clocked at 1.2 and I'll compare links and see if it is different firmware or not.

Guys i think our processor is all clocked at 1.5GHz i looked at the baseband and it tells me the processor type which it says 8960 and thats a stocked clocked 1.5GHz processor with Adreno 225 you can google search "qualcomme snapdragon s4 processor" and.look for the wikipedia one then at wikipedia scroll all the way down to where it should say the generations of qualcommes processors and show the S4 one and look for the 8960 processor version that will give you all the details of our processor
