Cracked flash player

And why didn't you test it? :P

Interesting that someone managed to dumb it down to work with an ARMv6. I'm not volunteering to be a guinea pig though. Don't visit any flash sites to need it.

I just tested it, and it doesn't work for me. It installed without a hitch, but even after rebooting and then even clearing browser cache/history etc, it still does the same old thing it did before, where it says i'm missing the plugin.

Found a better resource, as phandroid isn't the only site to mention this: ANDROID CAMPUS: [APP] WORKING ADOBE FLASH PLAYER FOR ARMv6 ( ARM 11) ANDROID MOBILE PHONES

They provide a list of supported phones. It seems every single optimus variation EXCEPT the M is mentioned lol. go fig. they also note that it typically works better with rooted phones/custom roms, implying that that's not necessary but may be of benefit. they also mention to reboot the phone after the install.

every one of those points applies to me except of course, I've got the M, so it ain't workin. Ah well, nothin new.

I bought this LG Optimus M in Feb. 2011, thinking if I got youtube, I surely would be able to download any flashplayer, or it would be a pre-install. I am so pissed! I can't even watch Jon Stewart's Daily show. Is there no flashplayer downloadable? Java or not? Someone help me!

Our phones processor isn't strong enough to play flash. And we really aren't as major a priority as the other phones in the Optimus series so there is really no reason to make a flash player that works for us.

In the meantime, the Optimus M still does support reasonable options for video:

You can use YouTube to your heart's content! While normally based on Flash, Youtube mobile is based on HTML5, so it works fine on our phones.

You can use these video formats without any extra effort on your part beyond downloading or transferring the video to your phone: MP4, WMV, 3GP, 3G2
At least three out of four of those formats are exceedingly common and therefore practical. MP4 and WMV are common throughout most modern devices that can play any sort of video be it your smartphone or your computer. 3GP and 3G2 are common formats (technically containers) designed to play video primarily on 3G mobile devices, but they also work on 2G (1x) devices like ours, and from what I've seen 3GP is the more common of the two.

Your device is DivX certified! Once you register it, you can play anything that would play in any other DivX certified device (.
>
Press Menu, then tap Settings.
>Scroll down and tap About Phone.
>You'll then see DivX VOD registration. Tapping that will display a registration code and a URL to visit from your computer.
>Basically you'll go to the DivX website, download and install the DivX Plus Player, the DivX codec pack, and just because it's a useful plugin, the DivX Web Player.
>Once installed, open the DivX Plus Player on your computer, and click "VOD" in the menu bar at the top, then "Register a DivX certified device".
>From there it'll ask you for the Registration code that I mentioned above, and the rest should be relatively self explanatory.
>It'll create/download to your computer a short video that you'll need to transfer to your phone's SD card, and play through the stock "Video Player" app, after which you can play any DivX protected material.

Imagine: renting DivX videos online, downloading them to your phone, and watching them! Never be bored in the waiting room again. =>

You can also listen to a variety of audio formats using the stock music player or other ones available on the Android Market as well, so you should have no problem with music, and apps like Podkast will find and play podcasts if you like those, too.

So even though we don't get the wonders of Flash on our phones, there's still a lot of other options. Hope this helps. =>

I didn't even get my lg optimus m yet so haven't tried this but the browser Skyfire is supposed to handle this. Anyone try it yet for flash sites?
