Help Crackling Sound Using HDMI cord

Lurker
Hi, this is my first post. I've been reading on here for a while and now I've finally got something to add (or ask I should say).

I did a search but couldn't find any specifically related topics on this issue.

I've got the HD station for my bionic and recently ordered my mini hdmi cable (it's a motorola cord). When I plugged in the cable to the tv and tried to play a youtube video the picture works but my sound stutters/crackles like crazy. When I say stutter/crackle, I don't mean slight or annoying...it's unbearable.

I also tried playing music already on my bionic but encountered the same problem. I thought it might be because the hd station was bad since this is the first time I hooked up an hdmi cord but when I plugged the cord directly into the phone and used mirror mode I had the same problem with the stuttering/crackling sound.

The next logical thing is to try another cord but I've only got the one for now and I don't know anyone else with a mini hdmi cord. Has anyone else encountered this problem?

I'm using a pre-owned bionic which is actually my second phone (the first one a friend spilled coke all over it and let it sit like that overnight).

Thanks

I am going to have to say it sounds like a hardware issue. Call Verizon and see if they will swap it out. They are getting pretty good at it by now.

I have not come across this with a phone but in my experience with hdmi it could be the hdmi cable. Try a new cable you can get them fairly cheap. Another option is to take it to a Verizon store and have them test the phone with their cable. Let me know if you take it to them and the outcome.

Update:

I took my phone to the verizon store and they said that they didn't have any way to test whether it was the cord or the phone (which I found pretty odd they would say that). So they sent me a new phone.

The new phone works just as it should. No more stuttering sound.

It's a little annoying to have to get a new phone but they did take care of the problem.
