Well here we go.
For starters this is the Tab we are looking at. There are two versions, but first the general info

The diff between the two tabs are minor but Important.
There are two digitizers that are known, the zet6221 and the Goodix GT811.
First off rooting this gadget was so easy, find and dl the
Drivers_AllwinnerA10_32and64.zip and then make sure that adb is setup. I used SuperOneClick to root the tab. Worked perfectly first time out. [sorry about the bold, just noticed it].
Now you will need a backup, a complete one. I made use of Titanium Pro, and placed the files on the external card.
now there is a thread at XDA that will supply a ton of info as well as the CWM recovery for this.

is the recovery file as posted in XDA. [CWM 6.0.1.2]
Extract the file to the root of your 'sdcard' [ie, the internal one ]
From a term Emu or ADB enter these commands
cd /sdcard
sh install-recovery.sh
To then boot into recovery enter
sh reboot-recovery.sh
Controls are
Power= select
vol+=up
vol-=down
I'ved tried many diff apps, but have settled on online nandroid backup, and nandroid manager to handle the backups and believe it or not there is a device specific patch available for us as well. just dl and install thru nandroid manager.
Android Tuner is my fave for most of the android devices I come across. Be careful, it can't be emphasized enough, Bricking your device is your choice, be aware of the possible issues in advance.
now there are ROMS available for this tab, just be certain to check which DIGITIZER you have. Also as far as I've found so far there are issues with most of the Roms that I've come across, ie; no cam [back facing anyway] no screen flip, and other minor things.
I'll post the links to the roms in a bit.
You may be better off [?] tuning your existing device, take out apps that are just excess weight. I had good luck with the Xposed Framework, found at XDA, And other apps like V6 Super Charger, also from XDA link
