Hi guys,
I'm suffering some pretty severe/frequent crashing problems with my Galaxy S2 (GT-i9100, SIM free) and I'm struggling to diagnose it or see a way forward.
I'll be using it for general use (i.e. texts, Facebook, web browsing etc.) when suddenly it just gives in, crashes and remains turned off.
Often (but not always) on turning the device back on, it'll have forgotten the level of charge in the battery and believe it is "critically low". This would lead me to believe that the battery is broken, but when I plug it back into the charger, the battery level returns back to the original level (so if it was 80% before the crash, the charge will return immediately to 80% after connecting to the charger). So clearly then, the battery is holding it's charge, so I don't think the battery is at fault.
This brings me on to the software (running Samsung's stock Android 4.0.4). Just before the crash, the notification bar at the top of the screen will show that the signal will crash, as will the wifi. Then obviously the whole phone crashes. It doesn't seem to depend on whether the phone's wifi is on or not. Could it be a memory issue?
I don't think a factory reset would be at all useful, so is it a case of completely resetting it with an older version of Android which might be more stable on this device?
Hope you can help!
Thanks,
Hyperbolic.
