Root create ext3 without wiping?

Can I use my linux netbook to create an ext3 partition without wiping the whole card? Rom manager wipes the card [Apparently?] and I rather not.
going to copy the card to my netbook way jic!

try it but on windows if I create a partition in space occupied by a FAT partition, usually that FAT partition becomes corrupt.

It would be safe to back it up. then you may aswell just do it normally

Also while thinking about it, I already have some apps on the SD card (using std froyo move to sd), do I need to move anything back to internal memory? This is the most confusing bit!

I did it in gparted within Ubuntu - Obviously you need to backup the card to be safe, but you can shrink the fat32 partition and then create an ext3.

Worked perfectly for me.

That said, if you have any doubt...backup, wipe the card completely and do it from scratch.

You can do it in Windows too, with the right partition tools. Partition Magic and Paragon ought to be able to do it.
