I remember reading over at CU they were going to do this after the iPhone came out, but they said something about having to have something switched on your plan. Do you have to do anything, or is it automatic?

im "assuming" automatic as i checked my data usage for the month & im already passed 1GB & my iheart still streams flawlessly when before it would play, stop, play, stop.. thats how i knew i maxed my 1 GB... the guy @ Cricket made it seem as thou it was automatic...regardless, good question

FWIW, Cricket has newer plans getting ready to hit soon (something like $70 for 5gb)
Not to mention, Huawei/Cricket are doing a so-called "recall" on the Merc. If you're eligible, you should receive a text message saying so... I got one, called the number included in the text, and the rep said my new Merc will be at the nearest cricket store (based off if your zip) Friday.

Got the text yesterday... I'd rather keep my og Merc that works perfectly than one that's gunked up with their Muve crap. Nice to see them offering more data though. Now lets work on some 4g!

i see they got a new HTC on there list of phones available, i would mind one of them Samsumg S phones.. that'd be the shizzal..

They sent me an email about the HTC One V. Doesn't seem like an upgrade from the Merc. Plus no removable battery or SD card = no sale for me.

Yeah, I saw the HTC online, but I also noticed they took the Mercury off the site again. I wonder if that's the end of the Mercury... with all the new phones that are suppose to be coming .

Lady at The Cricket store said to expect the Samsung Galaxy S3 in the future. Don't know if that's a for sure thing though. If it Cricket does get the S3 I will defiantly update. I will sure miss having Flash though.

Did you see the giant Muve music logo right on the front of the screen by the earpiece on the HTC? Ridiculous. That's enough to make me not get it even if I liked it lol. The S3 would be nice, but i'm still happy with the Merc unless they get 4g around here.

According to the thread I was reading over at Cricket Users, you do need to change your plan. I went to MyCricket.com and changed mine and did a *228 for good measure and everything seems fine. You can also call*611 or go to a Cricket store to make the change. Again, this is according to CricketUsers, but most of the mods there are Cricket dealers, so they should know what they're talking about.

When I was at the website they had a giant banner ad for the Mercury for $199. May vary according to area though. What other phones are they rumored to be getting? I haven't been keeping up on this stuff lately, haven't really felt any urge to upgrade. The Merc has been doing what I need it to do.

Other than the HTC One V, here are the other phones Cricket has on deck...

ZTE Groove
Android 2.3
800MHz
5.2MP Camera
3.5" screen

ZTE Engage
Android 4.0

Yuck. Lets hope this Mercury lasts awhile. I'd rather see them stick with Huawei than go to ZTE. I guess Huawei is getting to high end for them lol.

I think there's another HTC variant being tested as well... Gotta dig thru the multiple forums I'm in and find it.

Found it (Cricket forums)

What's that one called? No flash for the camera, can't be a very high end model. Looks pretty cool, though.

In ohio valley market rate plans are changing 9/2.

$50/month = Unlimted Talk,Text and Web (1gb full speed), also includes muve music
$60/month = Unlimted Talk,Text and Web w/tethering (2.5gb full speed) w/muve music
$70/month = Unlimted Talk,Text and Web w/tethering (5gb full speed) w/muve music

and with the addition of $10/1gb data add on packages I'm really starting to like cricket!

The mercury is EOL (end of life) and supposedly within the next couple months cricket is supposed to get a galaxy s 3 variant.

Yup... Merc=EOL.
Just changed my plan to $70=5gb. I like what Cricket is doing here...
Can you confirm the gs3 coming to Cricket?

Why would they discontinue the Mercury already? That sucks. They're still selling the Ascend 2 for Christs sake.

Because now they have the HTC One V. Its a nice phone, but actually has a much slower processor and less battery life than the Mercury. I think people will get excited about it though just because it's an HTC...
