Help Cricket issues...

The only flaw is with wifi on and 3g off is you wont get yahoo updates. I always leave both on and my battery last all day easy. I plug my phone in around 12.30 a.m. and take it off around 745 a.m.

I get my yahoo updates just fine without WiFi.

Okay. I assume we already have this knowledge somewhere, but I can't find it.

In stock Messages, in Settings...

if you click on 'Connection Settings', you see, THE EXACT information we need to input, for mms.mycricket.com/servlet/mms, in place of mms.vtext.com.

CAN we possibly edit this without root? I can't find any of the settings in *#*#PROGRAM#*#* and ##PST and all of those that are editable. The table here in Messages it NOT (I assume without Root?)...

This has to be the key. Does anyone know how to edit these fields?

I've been frantically looking all over the phone.

MMS settings?

I wonder if they won't work for you, since your EVDO is done by the broadband card (a different phone number?)

I haven't looked into it yet. I might get a chance sometime today. I will tell you everything is snappier, live wallpaper is cool, Google Nav works. The phone is just snappier, of course the update wiped all my apps out but I will be slowly adding them back on throughout the day. MMS works the same way sms does, we just need to find a way to access those settings. There seems to be no updates to the programming but I have not studied it completely yet.

Seems we have access to APN's now...that I didn't have before.

Or Maybe not, I was able to create the ICON (were before I couldn't) but it just brings up a black screen.

Super News for Cricket users:

It looks like the SPC Unlock code for the Eris CHANGED with 2.1? (to something other than 000000).

Is this not the same code that gets punched in to ePST?

Probably so that Verizon could avoid losing Eris's to Cricket and other carriers. Cricket is no longer able to *228 for her phone. Can anyone confirm this or deny this? I'd like to hear a denial, so that I can try again with a different Customer Service rep.

That's a HUGE fail for anyone here who's upgraded to 2.1.

As far as 000000 not working it seems to work on my phone fine. I havent had a problem with that. I have tried many times to find a way to edit these settings. I have even tried using a ANP app on the market to save the ANP settings and edit them but then lost all the data in loading the new settings and lost all mobile 3g it was bad. so then I had to do a hard reset to get everything back as far as I know we will have to wait until we gain root to edit these settings or if someone could come up with an app then lets you edit the mms settings

If the unlock code isn't different for EPST than it is for SPC,

then I am completely lost.

My understanding is that the password we're typing in to edit EPST is a different animal, and that the SPC Unlock code is not something we can look at or modify without utilities.

Wow. Okay, I have it opened in QPST with the Diag drivers.

I can't find ANYTHING to extract the .prl file. Looking through the file structure with EFS explorer isn't seeming to do it. I'm using QPST 2.7 version 301. I had 303, but wound up with 301 after uninstalling.

--------------------------

And using 'Service Programming' gives me an unspecified error while trying to 'Read from Phone'. Strange?

OK -- so it looks like the latest QPST I found v323 reads the phone better.

BUT, not the .prl file. I can put a prl file IN the phone

but I can't see extracting it FROM the phone. Confusion!

I'm in the Service Programming, I've Read from Phone, and I'm under Roam, looking at the bottom.

I am confused at what you are trying to accomplish. Why are you trying to extract a .PRL from the phone?? You can D/L .prl files everywhere...

There is no buffalo/niagara .prl file ANYWHERE on the internet. So I'm trying to get it FROM the phone.

38499, 38599, 38699, or 38199 would be great. But they are nowhere to be found.

I've hunted the depths of my abilities to search the internet. So I'm trying to get it from the phone, to share it, and to use it when I need.

And FWIW, this whole issue I was havving was, again, bad customer service. In the store, they were able to re-allow me to *228. Strange.

*228 loads the PRL for your area...so if you did that...you shouldn't need a different PRL.

Also, just FYI...there are some cricket PRLs that are specific to the area you are in...but most of the PRLs are pretty much universal. Almost any PRL should work for you. (as long as you use a roaming PRL if your plan has roaming) There are no Portland Oregon PRLs out there, but 01050 worked just fine for the last 5 phones I have had...I did however notice that the 01050 didn't let me *228 on my Eris...where it would let me *228 on my HTC Mogul. But if you know how to program the EPST you don't need *228 anyways....

EPST doesn't give you the .prl file. *228 downloads a local .prl file with better reception.

1050 and 1042 and a dozen others have AWFUL reception in Buffalo. She can't survive on that.

Ok check it out on the phone with the good prl file go to ##778 enter 000000 in edit mode then go to prl enterupdate prl enter what for it to show up thenit should show you all prl file on the phone. if I will sent you one that should work pretty good

prl sent to your gmail. load it on your sdcard then repeat the steps above make sure you hit menu after you update the prl file and select commit mods

Which PRL is it gtpdjw?

You could also try 1013...it's hard to find, but its out there...I don't recall where I got it. I will pull it from my Mogul in a bit if you want it.

No no I have 1042 and 1050 and 38515 and a ton of others. I know how to put one on the phone from file. I'm trying to get one FROM the phone. 38499.prl to be exact.
