Hi everyone, I just recently obtained a Cruz Reader R101 7" Tablet. The tablet is in new condition, but has the old, buggy firmware in it making it pretty much unusable. I saw that Cruz had a firmware update, but their webpage is obviously no longer maintained as all their links for downloads are dead and besides, I have read several places that state their instructions for updating the firmware will brick the device.
Ok, my primary goal here for this device is to root it and install a custom ROM with the Play Store. Everything I'm finding is for the R102 and R103. Also, I've read somewhere that the firmware needs to be updated before rooting and installing a custom ROM??? Well anywho, can anybody point me in the right direction please? Thanks
