I upgraded from the OV; love the phone. I read all the horror stories and was kinda iffy on getting it, so I thought I'd post something for someone in my old shoes. The screen color and sharpness are great, along with the size. I do notice a little bit of laggy response here and there, but nothing worse than the OV had. I watched a video of a guy taking off the factory screen protector and the thing is as thick as shoe leather, so that may be some of the cause. I'm keeping mine on. No light bleed anywhere. The GPS took a few minutes to lock the first time, after that almost instant. Facebook check-in has no problem. This is all outdoors or near a window; I don't try to use GPS deep inside of buildings usually. I use Juicedefender to maintain battery life and it works fine. The screen quality and graphics and the smoothness from the speedy processor keep me on it a lot more than I ever used the OV and I still get through a full day with 40 or 50%. I plug it up at night when i'm playing all the shooter games and facebooking, lol. I did root the phone for apps like titanium backup and addblocker using gingerbreak 1.2, no problems there. You can't do a wireless tether using apps apparently unless you modify your computer (unlike the OV) but wired usb tether works fine (I'm on it now, PdaNet). Outside, the camera works fine, better quality than the OV, good contrast and color (I'm a canon 40d user and I'm picky so if I think it's ok, it can't be that bad) Inside with no flash I do get the greenish tint blob in the center of the screen, it's not as bad if you change the white balance from auto to incandescent but it's still there. Turn the flash on and it's gone and the flash is pretty good for a phone. If you hold still the video is pretty good, pan around and it gets jerky. The build quality is good, and whatever the outside finish is, it feels good in your hand. The stock android keyboard sucks, it's disabled so you get no word prediction so it's almost unusable. The stock touchPal also sucks, you don't get the slide for multiple layouts. I downloaded the touchPal free and the gingerbread keyboard so that takes care of that. I can more or less do most of my internet stuff using the phone and leave the laptop off most of the time. I got mine from Wal-mart for $229. The games will blow you away. So anyway, hope this helps the peeps researching.
