Help Cursor jumps back after typing second word

When sending a text, after I hit the spacebar after the second word I type, the cursor always jumps back to the middle of the second word and I accidentally start typing in that word. Because I know it does this, I have to hit space and then manually click behind the second word so that I can continue my sentence. Has anyone had this problem? How can I fix this? Thanks
