Help custom call ringtones, how?

hi all, i have figured out that to use my own mp3s as notification/sms tones by creating the notifications folder on the sd card but this does not work for call ringtones

so basically does anyone know how to do this in a similar fashion to the sms tones (id rather not use an app as a folder is heaps easier)

In the audio folder where you created your notifications folder, also create a ringtones folder and put your mp3s in there - they should then show in the ringtones list.

ah i had not even created the audio folder i just had a notifications folder in the root of my sd, this worked fine for notifications but not call ringtones, once i put the notifications folder in an audio folder the mp3s now show up in both the notifications and the call ringtones bit

on a side note notifications can be .wav files but ringtones cant...weird

Make sure you either reboot your phone or unmount -> eject -> reinsert the SD Card once you have created the folder and copied your MP3's over

Otherwise you will need to wait for the phone to rescan the SD Card - which it does periodically..

i did not have to do that simply created the audio folder and put the notifications in there and it worked, my phone scans and updates sd card contents every single time you do anything with the card sometimes annoying but also handy for exactly that situation

it just seems that only mp3s work for ringtones .wavs as my other files are arent allowed as ringtones only notifications

i figured out today that its only when you use the default file manager that comes with the phone that it will do this, other thrid party file mamagers do not invoke the media scan after every action

hi... can someone please tell me how to get to this audio folder? i have been trying to work out how to have my own personal ringtones too but i dont know where the audio folder you're taling about is on the SD card.

you have to create the audio folder yourself ;)

do i need to put it anywhere in particular or just anywhere on the SD card? does it have to be called audio?
i have a folder called music on my SD card which has all my music in it, but the music from that folder doesnt show up when i go to my music settings for ringtones etc
