Help custom desk tops

Can anyone tell me what size I need to make a graphic so I can make my own desktop from photos I take? So far I have found that the captivate does some major size adjustments and cropping of the phtos I have tried to do this with.

If you're talking about the background for your captivate, try 960x800, when it tries to crop just select the whole thing and you'll get it in full size, and it will slide a little when you change between screens :]
