Not looking for custom backgroud

I want to have a "banner" widget like icon that goes full width, that you can put custom text into. Like a persons name or what not, to be full width of 1 screen. So it looks nice on small cell screens.

Any short cuts I can take to make one?

Arrgh. Just wrote a long post and my connection crapped out.

Anyway, there are 2 i've seen.

Simple text widget and minimalistic text widget.

simple text widget is REALLY basic. it creates a 4x1 widget. you create the text, pick a font size (16 - 22), a font color (black white grey red yellow green blue), and a layout (left center right). That's it. Limited but simple.

minimalistic text widget is much more versatile but harder to use. Its designed to let you make a custom text clock, date display, battery stats, etc. instead of using graphical icons. It does have a static text option, but I am not going to go through all the steps to create it. You just need to go to predefined layouts and then choose custom layout, then you can go to custom layout. It starts defaulted to a text clock, so you have to delete the clock portions then add the text option.

Thanks, they really need to fix that google play search ;)

simple txt hit the spot to put her name and number on the home screen. plus it doesn't ask to do anything, no permissions needed, has to be a first ;)
