download the file and rename it update.zip. put it on the root of your sd card. reboot into recovery and select install sd card update.zip. allow it to install and reboot.

<Noob>
Im a bit confused. So I flashed this. And I have the Velocity Rom 0.1.1 And I used clockwork mod to partition for Apps2SD. Do i need to get an app or do I have to wait for veloctiy to support Apps2SD?

</Noob>

I can't get this to work my phone says its flashed but nothing will work. Wired thether says kernel not supported and wifi tether force closes on open or when its activated any ideas?

Android-WiFi-tether does not work even after LG ally update with info you provided to gain support. Please read my PM. Thanks king drellisdee.

Just to inform you of an update on the issues with the android wifi-tether. A bunch of people have been testing the issues with your kernel and the tether app and have found some interesting insight as to how to figure out the problem.

Please check out the link below to get to the issue 559 page on android-wifi-tether. There is a logcat reading and info related to the init.

Link.

Drellisdee, I am amazed by your kernel and I hope that android-wifi-tether for your kernel will eventually come out.

I know I added that :)

I am using your overclocked kernel, but I have an SD card that I've already partitioned, but my ext3 partition is going to waste right now in Velocity. What would be the easiest way for me to combine the benefits of your overclocked kernel and your apps2sd kernel with my little Velocity?

Thanks in advance drellisdee!

OC kernel has ext 3 & 4 support too. You just need a apps2sd rom.

I have been trying to get a2sd to work with a number of roms available. I can get it to mount and setup symlinks for apps2sd and swap2sd but I cannot keep the mountpoints persistent. I have tried to add lines to mount the sdcard to /system/sd in init.rc but all I get is bootloops.

Alternativly I have tried using other roms apps2sd setup scripts but I run into the same problems. A2sd will function as long as you dont reboot.

Swap2sd I got to work perfectly with velocity I however quickly realized it is not worth using for a number of reasons.

Does it support swap too?

I currently have a 4 gig card with a 128 meg swap, 512 meg ext3, and the remainder at FAT32.

Any rom recommendations? I know that Velocity gets the most thumbs ups when people ask what the best Ally rom is... but it does seem to have its fair share of limitations. Perhaps .2 will fix many of these limitations, but I have no problem with lather, rinse, repeat (wipe, test, flash) as often as necessary to try to find the right which rom works best for me.

I've never been one to poo-poo anyone else's work. I don't think things are as cut and dry as A > B... more than likely it is just that Joe Blow prefers A to B. Our opinions can, and probably will, differ.

Thanks again for all your hard work. I'm enjoying my OC testing thus far.
