Root Custom Kernel?

U must be rooted but
Um....Download terminal emulator from play store

Open it, type "su"
Accept superuser request
type" dd if=/dev/block/platform/*/by-name/boot of=/sdcard/boot.img"
Then upload the file boot.img on your sdcard somewhere and post a link, expect a kernel either tomorrow or in the next few days :P

Also I need a file at /proc/config.gz
You can get it by getting ES file manager and goingtothe folder nd copying it to ur sdcard, I need that config file to build kernel correctly

Now one, thing to keep in mind, ZTE hasn't released any kernel source. (Grrrrrr...) But I see your kernel version is 3.0.8 and I'm compiling with 3.0.21 (sorry but its the closestvworking thing I have to work with cause the other kernel src I have is 3.4 but that's for later to work on...) but I have to back port a lot of things just to get it to compile. But other than that everythings gravy :D

Update: sorting out errors in source code.... I have to go through and comment out out function "sec_debug" ans now Its giving some progress....

you guys aren't locked bootloader or anything are you?

because I have something done, not the source compiled kernel, just one with modifications to stock

we can change the boot up image. Like I can change it from boost logo to nyan cat that plays when I boot up the phone :D. Does that help answer your question? I'm super noob when it come to this stuff.

Yes it shows the android guy first then shows the boost Mobile/carrier animation. The android guy is more green when the phone is booting up though.
