Well yeah that would be the best way to do it. He could have 2 different items listed on ebay. He could have one without the custom engraving on one listing, and another one for a custom engraving for a few dollars more, and the buyer could include a note with what they want engraved.
I really hope that he considers this. It looks like it would be in his best interest and the best interest of potential buyers, since it is safer. (And also opens it up for more buyers!)
n2airz, if you would like, feel free to make another thread with a more descriptive OP (as this thread originated as a thread for your own dock, and not a for sale type thread). Maybe put pictures of the final design along with payment info in it, and I will sticky it in this forum.
I have bought many things off of eBay and sold many things as well. I very much like buying things off eBay, because of the good deals I sometimes come across. With that said... I absolutely hate selling on eBay. Not to say that I won't do it again. But, I would much rather have my own website, granted it won't get as much traffic as eBay, but I won't be paying those damn selling fees.
I agree with "Terabethia"... with the right metadata it will be no problem finding my page through google.

Alright guys I am sorry for the slow update. I have been finishing up with some other work and tweaking the design a little. I ditched the wire back rest for a more proper one. I hate doing things half assed. Anyways here are some pictures of the final design including the back rest and the 4 screw bracket on the bottom which I am glad to say works awesome.
I am going to ship these disassembled so that attaching the cable is easier. Here is how it will work.
1.) Take your usb cable and put it through the bottom and attach it to your phone. Then slowly tighten up the screws keeping note of the alignment of the phone. When everything looks good snug them up. You don't have to torque the screws down very tight. A little goes a long ways.
2.) Then you can remove the double sticky tape on the back rest, line it up and attach it.
Doing things this way should accommodate a bare phone as well as folks with a case.
I am going to start filling orders by the weekend.
Have a good one guys and thanks for the support. You guys ROCK!!!
John
Is there an official ordering process yet?
Looks like you've got quite a lot of orders to fill. I hate to bother ya, but do you think you'll be able to design/build a vertical stand anytime soon? Or do you have your hands too full with the horizontal ones?
Keep up the great work man!
(for the better). Should be pretty easy though.
