Accessories Custom Made Incredible Dock

n2airz, if you would like, feel free to make another thread with a more descriptive OP (as this thread originated as a thread for your own dock, and not a for sale type thread). Maybe put pictures of the final design along with payment info in it, and I will sticky it in this forum.

Well yeah that would be the best way to do it. He could have 2 different items listed on ebay. He could have one without the custom engraving on one listing, and another one for a custom engraving for a few dollars more, and the buyer could include a note with what they want engraved.

I really hope that he considers this. It looks like it would be in his best interest and the best interest of potential buyers, since it is safer. (And also opens it up for more buyers!)

Except that if he goes through EBay then he has to pay them. He will have to pay a listing fee and then the final value fee.

Add that to the fact that PayPal charges for credit card payments (a precentage is taken out of his payment) and it's going to cut into his profits. Which means he will either need to eat the cost or raise his prices to make up for it.

It is much better for him (for many reasons) to just set up a simple website and have a PayPal checkout. Then he can make postings on this site as well as other Android sites to get some interest. And if he puts in the right keywords on his website then anyone who google's "Incredible Dock" will easily find his site.

Good call.

I have bought many things off of eBay and sold many things as well. I very much like buying things off eBay, because of the good deals I sometimes come across. With that said... I absolutely hate selling on eBay. Not to say that I won't do it again. But, I would much rather have my own website, granted it won't get as much traffic as eBay, but I won't be paying those damn selling fees.

I agree with "Terabethia"... with the right metadata it will be no problem finding my page through google.

If you do decide to put a site together and need help, let me know. I've made quite a few sites and would be more than happy to offer my assistance.

That sounds like a good idea, I will put something together. It will be more of a picture / assembly thread. Definitely won't be a for sale thread.

Speaking of sale... I owe alot to this site. I will be signing up for a premium membership also(those 50 private messages aren't cutting it :), my inbox fills up in couple days :)) and donating.

Alright guys I am sorry for the slow update. I have been finishing up with some other work and tweaking the design a little. I ditched the wire back rest for a more proper one. I hate doing things half assed. Anyways here are some pictures of the final design including the back rest and the 4 screw bracket on the bottom which I am glad to say works awesome.

I am going to ship these disassembled so that attaching the cable is easier. Here is how it will work.

1.) Take your usb cable and put it through the bottom and attach it to your phone. Then slowly tighten up the screws keeping note of the alignment of the phone. When everything looks good snug them up. You don't have to torque the screws down very tight. A little goes a long ways.

2.) Then you can remove the double sticky tape on the back rest, line it up and attach it.

Doing things this way should accommodate a bare phone as well as folks with a case.

I am going to start filling orders by the weekend.

Have a good one guys and thanks for the support. You guys ROCK!!!

John

Love it! Very nice work.

I love the final design! It looks like the back rest can be positioned as needed, which is perfect because I have the extended battery/back! Great job!!

Guess I will follow along and add myself to the list even though I was the 30th person to say they would buy one in the beginning of the thread. However this list is funny cause once the site goes up it isn't like the list is going to matter.

Thanks for the comments guys. Damn this list is getting big ;-). I never expected it. Awesome...

I am going to ship a few today. Then really start hitting it on Monday.

Looks like you've got quite a lot of orders to fill. I hate to bother ya, but do you think you'll be able to design/build a vertical stand anytime soon? Or do you have your hands too full with the horizontal ones?

Keep up the great work man!

Hey man.

Yes you are right, I am busy right now lol. And I think I will get stupid busy when the website goes live.

Let me see what I can come up with. I can probably just narrow the gap that the phone sits in and provide a through hole for the cable(I don't think it will be able to be mounted solid). Then create a backrest that molds around the phone. Of course this will probably all change when I have a little more time to think about it :) (for the better). Should be pretty easy though.

Put your name on the list and when I get to your name I will have something ready for you. :)
