I have a friend who said he can powder-coat this thing black for me if I get it. Awesome!!! And if I do get it, I will post up pics for you guys for sure.
 
Is there any angle built in to these stands? The pics above don't really show any. It looks like the phone is pretty much straight up and down. Maybe a little more angle would work cool too.

I believe he said he was going to build in some angle (like 10% or something like that). But I do agree with you, the picture doesn't appear to show any...

This does concern me a little as I am looking for some slight angle in the design.

There is a slight angle built into the stands. I took the pictures and they were rushed just to get them up here. The cord is actually pushing the cradle straight up. A slight adjustment with the cord puts the angle in the stand.

Good to hear and I'm glad you're liking the product. I'm #70 on the list and hope he's able to punch that many out pretty soon. Even if he ends up not being able to do all those orders I applaud his efforts for doing all this work.

+1 ...mine came yesterday and I agree. To those waiting it is well worth the wait. The quality, craftsmanship, etc. is exceptional. Probably gonna have to order another one :)

I did not see a reason for the back rest. It sits fine without it. So I played around with it and I liked how it looked sitting backwards. Kind of looks like it is sitting there with its arms out. Or at least it looks that way to me. :D So thanks for the heads up but it was done that way on purpose.

what keeps the phone from moving? Is the charger what holds the phone in position?
 
Not Sure where the "List" is at anymore, i got lost in this thread .... But I too would like one...

I sent a PM.... Just tell me when and where to send money... and ill wait patiently for my place in line to be called!!!
 
Maybe its just me but from the above pictures it looks like the only thing holding the phone upright would be the charging plug. The back rest may help but if the phone was pushed forward wouldn't it cause a lot of stress on the connection possibly damaging the phone micro usb socket?:confused:
