Root Custom MTD(CDMA)

Hey all, I recently flashed a custom ROM(Oxygen) thanks to the great efforts of the AlphaRevX team. It was a great experience, right up until I ran into the low memory warnings again. After a brief(and rather frightening experience) with the AlphaRev MTD tables(which, by the way, are NOT compatible with the Bravoc device!!!) I started my search for alternative. Guess what.........I FOUND IT!!!!!!

(Most of the credit for this tutorial goes to tukal of Team US Cellular)

Download cMTD Files
1. Download this zip: cMTD
2. Extract it to the root of your SD card
3. Edit the file mtdpartmap.txt with the appropriate values for your ROM,
Example:
mtd 100 5

The first number is the size for your system, and the second is for your cache. The remainder is for data.

Install cMTD
1. Goto 'install zip from sdcard' -> 'choose zip from sdcard' and then choose "recovery-CustomMTD_S.zip"
2. Goto 'mounts and storage' -> "format data" + "format cache" + "format system"
3. Goto 'advanced' and then 'Reboot Recovery'

4. Goto 'mounts and storage' -> "format boot"
5. Goto 'mounts and storage' -> "format system"
6. Goto 'wipe data/factory reset'
7. Goto 'install zip from sdcard' -> 'choose zip from sdcard' and then choose "ROM_NAME.zip"
8. Goto 'install zip from sdcard' -> 'choose zip from sdcard' and then choose "boot-CustomMTD_S.zip"
9. Goto 'reboot system now'

Remove cMTD
1. Goto 'install zip from sdcard' -> 'choose zip from sdcard' and then choose "remove-CustomMTD_S.zip"
2. Goto 'mounts and storage' -> "format data" + "format cache" + "format system"
3. Goto 'advanced' and then 'Reboot Recovery'

My layout
I am running the Oxygen ROM(2.1.4) with layout 100/5, and I have 200MB free. That's with around 31 total apps installed(none on SD).

Warning of SUroot
Can I also add that only people who understand what this is and what it is doing should attempt this. It involves work and knowledge to maintain so for more technical users only.

I could have told you the alpharev hboots wouldn't be compatible. I believe I put it in my memory faq the other day.

Oooh well done. Same as me on redux. There really isn't much further to take it.

Edit. Bah. Had to set myself a challenge to prove myself wrong. 60MB /system with 0.05MB to spared

I'm open for challenges ;)
