Help Custom Notification Ringtone- How ?

I've just got a Wildfire (Telstra Locked) and I am trying to change the Text Message notification ringtone but I cant see any options apart from the included tones, which are all crap.
So any clues.
By the way it is easy to add custom ringtones and change them but not the notification tones.

when your phone is connected to your computer open up windows explorer to see the files. find media.open it, you should see audio, open. next you will see notifications.if you have no notification folder you can create it here. drag and drop files here. back on your phone you will selectsound and display. go to notification, open and you will see the files you dragged in. select and your done

Probably been solved by now, but if you install Handcent SMS and use that instead, you can set custom tones without having to move files around etc.

I just took it off though, I also have a Wildfire and because of the low specs, it doesn't run as well on that. For higher spec phones though, Handcent is the way to go.
