Help Custom Notification ringtones

Well, I made the necessary folders, unmounted sd card and unfortunately I still can't make it work. If I don't unmount I can view the folders but nothing in the folders on the "fileviewer". If I do unmount the sd card then it says it can't read the card. There must be something I'm missing but for the life of me I can't figure it out. Help please! :o
Did you transfer the sound files to the correct folders on the sd card? Have you actually tried setting the individual notification tones in the different apps? Go into the email/messaging/whatever app, hit "Menu-settings-notification" and make your choice.
The stock file viewer for some reason doesn't show mp3 files, but they should be there. You can download a better file viewer from the market, like Astro or Androzip.

I have the Samsung Moment (sph-m900) and I cannot figure out how to change the notification tone for messaging, to something I have downloaded on my sd card. If you have figured this out let me know what I have to do to get my phone to recognize something i download as one of the presets like tada, tinkerbell, voila, etc. Thanks

Create a folder on your sdcard called 'notifications' and put the tone there. When you go to the mms app's settings to select a ringtone you should see it. You can also create a 'ringtones' folder to add new ringtones.

Okay i know it is more than likely too late, but here is a quick alternative i found,
NOTE: Myxer may not have the tone you want.

So you download the myxer app
(don't go through your browser to get the myxer tones because you won't get speciall options in the app.)
search for your tone and when you select "get ringtone" it should bring you to a screen where it allows you to "customize" or "download"
Click customize, this will bring you to a screen where you can even edit the length of the song, when your done messing with that you then Click "Save"
This will bring up a screen that says "save as" you can choose ringtone, alarm, notifications, and music..obviously you want notifications
and Viola it is able to be selected as a tone in your notifications
(It will ask to automatically do it for you, i didn't let it because i wanted to make my texts, and email tones differently)

I know it seems like a lot, but i was also being very detailed and when your doing it it really is not much, also myxer has gotten really popular so it will most likely have the tone you want. :) hope i have helped someone out there.

P.s you can delete myxer after you have set them and your tones will still be there.

Do the ringtones created in the myxer app show up in the ringtone and notifications folders? I haven't used myxer in a long time, and I did a direct download on my phone instead of using an app (didn't have one then?), and the tones were invisible in the file browser. The only way to even delete them was by clearing the Protected storage data, which didn't let me pick and choose what to keep. Since then, I've editted and dl'd via pc, then transferrred to my phone.
