Very Important Note "(DO NOT TOUCH THE PowerOff.odex in /system/app/)" in step 7 the battery needs to be removed to complete the process if you don't remove it it will restart from the bootanimation and will not change the power off logo.

You will need winzip and winrar unzip the file!!

Instructions:
1) Your phone needs to be rooted.
2) Download winzip and winrar from the link above, you will need them to decompress the Poweroff.apk
3) Download the Zip file in this post and unzip the poweroff.rar in your computer then using winrar decompress the PowerOff.apk.
4) Transfer the PowerOff.apk to your phone internal storage or SD card.
5) Using Root Explorer copy the PowerOff.apk you saved in your internal storage or SD card in step 3.
6) Using Root Explorer navigate to /system/app/ and paste the PowerOff.apk it is going to ask you if you want to overwrite the one that already exists, your are going to select YES!!!
7) Now for the changes to take effect you need push and hold the power off button of the phone and select the power off option, and immediately remove the battery.

That is why you always back up the original!!! and then there will be no harm, this will not brick your phone, lets say you do it wrong the worst it can happen is that when you turn your phone off, It will restart from the bootanimation, to fix it, you replace it with your original PowerOff.apk.

and do i flash this zip? because if i extract the only thing there is PowerOff.rar

Restore will fix it. You need to extract the .rar file

thanks but i already have winrar lol & i just tested it out and when i turn off my phone it just goes to the boot animation and boots itself back on. weird

Yes! That happens the first time you turn you phone off.

I guess you didn't read the first post!!! DO NOT TOUCH THE poweroff.odex,

Broken out is deodex'd there is no odex. Look in the build prop for user.feature.lgpoweroff=false and change that false to true and reboot. Then it should work

Kinda new to this do I need to unzip and get the PowerOff.rar file and then put it on SD Card then move it into /system/app/ ?

Okay I have Rom Toolbox Pro open/ go to Root Browser/system/app/put it in here? move it from sd card? correct?

Very simple my friend you can unzipe the PowerOff.rar in your computer it contains PowerOff.apk, then transfer the PowerOff.apk to SD or internal memory it doesn't matter where, and yes!!!! move it into /system/app "REMENBER DO NOT TOUCH THE PowerOff.odex" and you have to remove the battery for the changes to take effect.

When you unzip this all you see is a .rar >PowerOff.rar? change it to apk?

I have now tried this three times now I Just can't get it to work? I downloaded WinZip to unzip it and have done just as you said with no luck there is but one apk in there PowerOff.apk but lucky I made a copy of the other PowerOff.apk just in case I needed to undo my work. ok now you take the apk file and put it in system/app/ and reboot... it should work...
