Root Custom Recovery question

Newbie
Hello everyone, I have unlocked my phone via the htcdev unlock method and was considering installing a custom recovery using this guide

[Guide] You are Unlocked. Now What? Simple Guide for Recovery, Root, and Kernels. - xda-developers

Most likely going to do amon ra. my question is... After I do this will I be able to revert to the stock recovery if i want or need to? I know that with my old lg phone I had to restore my stock recovery to get OTA updates. And since htc claims that they will release ICS for the rezound this is an important question for me.
Thanks in advanced

what i would do is suggest you make a backup of your stock setup as soon as you install your custom recovery.

Also more than likely as more ICS builds leak out for the ReZound the developers will make them available possibly for you to flash.

basically the rooting community will probably be on ICS long before the stock unrooted community.

yes. you can pull your stock recovery from an ruu and flash it just like you flash amon ra.

you can also not actually flash the recovery if you dont intend to use it much(or at all outside of gaining root). since its easier for me to use adb to flash the boot image, thus making it neccessary to be sitting at the PC,ive not bothered to permanently flash a recovery. when i want to flash a new rom,i boot to fastboot, flastboot flash the boot image, fastboot boot amon into phone memory, wipe, flash, reboot. stock recovery is still there. this is a good option for anyone who only used recovery to flash root files and wants to stay stock. youll just need to repeat the "fastboot boot recovery/install su" process after every OTA,wich isnt that big a deal :)

last and not least,id uploaded a stock recovery awhile back if you need it:
