Custom Ringtones/Text Sounds?

You mean the sound files hand like a .ringtone extention? Did you just have to change them to .mp3?
 
Here is what one looked like:

This is a sublime song... :) Once I took out the dashes and deleted ringtone at the end they showed up.
 
I smoke two joints before I smoke two joints, and then I smoke two more......
On a related note, 40 oz. to freedom is one of my favorite songs ever.

Back on topic..........The file name is really odd. I've never seen anything name files like that.
 
find them in a new folder called media which was created by ringdroid, the path to the created ringtones on the SD Card is media>audio>ringtones. I've since placed all my custom ringtones in said folder, now my custom ringtones show up with the htc/android ringtones.

did this, just placed ringtones from my computer in the folder and they show up in the right spot on the phone but when I set them as a ringtone or a notification they don't play when i get something, it's still the annoying tones that came with the phone. any ideas?
 
is there a way to customize the song that you selected for your ringtone. what i mean is, i bought a song off of amazon and selected that song as my ringtone. is it possible to customize which part of the song you can have play whenever someone calls you? you could do this with the iphone and i was wondering if you could do it with the droid eris as well.

when you are in your music player, hit menu, set as ringtone, then trim the ringtone, and you can pick whatever part of the song you want.

I just downloaded Ringdroid to my new HTC EVO, but whenever I use it to adjust a sound files, the playback is very distorted.

Also, if I want to unstinstall Ringdroid, how do I do it?

Go to the market, press menu, then downloads, then select the Ringdroid app, and uninstall.

Not sure where the Folder "Music" is located? Do I need to create on my SD card? First unmount, remove, create folder on SD Card while in computer, then re-mount in Droid? Guess I'm making this wayyy to hard. Help. Thanks.

What I did was --

Mount the SD card
In the root directory (top directory) create a folder titled media
Inside that folder I created 2 folders - audio and Music
All my music goes into the Music folder (sorted by album)
In the audio folder are 3 more folders - alarms, notifications, and ringtones. Sounds go into the appropriate folder(s)
 
Just moved the Music folder to the root directory of the card. Music app still finds it, so the answer is -

You can apparently put the music folder anywhere on the SD card

Just go get the Zedge app much easier to add then all the above answers
 
I just when through the process of creating the ringtone, notification and alarm directories. I copied a .wav file into the notification directory. When I go back to my phone it finds the name of the .wav file, but does not play the correct content. I've confirmed the file has the right sound. It's playing one of the default notification sounds that came with the phone.

Suggestions?

I have a Droid Charge and have just dumped my Iphone after 3 years. I like the droid system! I figured out the ringtones, but when I use ringdroid to make a ringtone into a notification.....It comes out garbled. Any other way to get tones to notifications ....are they .wav or .ogg? Thanks in Advance!! Chigger!!

I figured it out. You don't even need ringdroid. You just make the appropriate folders like everyone said above....ie...media, music, notifications, etc. The notifications tones just need to be in the notification folder with capital Notification.mp3 at the end of your tones name. They show up fine. Just edit the names for example dogfightNotification.mp3 and voila! There they are!
Thank you to all the prior posts for the help. It took about 10 different people to glean all of the needed info! This forum is EXCELLENTE!!!
