custom rom & extended battery combi

Hi all,

I thought I would make an effort to show you all the battery life on my GS2.

I have the official 2000mah battery for my phone brought from mobilefun.com

i have now tried several roms from check rom to lite'ning rom and the BEST one I found was cyanogen cm7. I tried the stable rom and I thought it was terrible. massive problems with it crashing and running like a bag of crap. I now have a nightly build from the 11/11/11.

So far I have managed to easily get well over 48 hours at heavy usage. i use my phone for texting pretty much all day, at work I dont text a lot but use it to surf the net and facebook . When I get home the phone is pretty much glued to my hand texting and facebook ect.

i have attached some screen shots for everyone to see.

As you can see I have had my GS2 running 2 Days 8 Hours and its finally on 13%. i did not sleep much over this weekend due to call of duty, so my phone never really went into a need sleep.

For anyone who asks there are way too many settings to list with the cm7 mod. basically the main settings are...

Turn off gps unless you need it.
Turn data and 3g off when you are connected to a wireless network.
Turn off bluetooth (does not work correctly with cm7 anyway)
turn animations off is settings
Turn screen brightness to auto

The rest are personal preference and common scene.


Hope this brings some light to extended battery life of the GS2 and I do honestly suggest trying CM7.

God that's some impressive battery life!! You put the Desire HD to shame... have to say though, my wife has the SGS (not the SGS II) and that too puts the DHD to shame!

What's the screen on time? I can get 2 days from a normal battery if the screen is barely on. Best I've had so far was 6 hours 38 mins.

I don't see the point of people turning things off to get 2 days use though. Use your phone and charge it each night. As long as you get 18 hours or so its going to be fine.

My screen on time was like 8 hours +, I cant remember the exact time scale but i do know it was over 8 hours.
