Root Custom ROM Help!

OKAY I installed ROM Toolbox Premium, ROM Manager Premium and the Droid X2 Bootstrap recovery. I have also downloaded MOLTEN V2.3 as my ROM of choice.

Now I am lost. I need a tutorial or specific instructions from here on out on how to get my new ROM flashed to my phone.

Any takers? Haha, sorry I'm a newb. First time trying to flash a new ROM. Oh I should also state that YES I am already rooted. That's taken care of. Just specifically flashing my new ROM.

Thanks!

Edit: Also, the INSTALL ROM option found in ROM Manager, does not work with Droid X2.

No, ROM Manager doesn't work with the X2, you can uninstall that app. Have you looked through the All Things Root Guide? Look through the links there. But the steps to flashing aren't too hard.
  • root your phone
  • install a custom recovery (Bootstrap)
  • create a nandroid backup with recovery
  • backup your contacts, apps, data, anything you wish to restore by using an app manager like Titanium Backup, syncing your contacts, using a backup app like MyBackup for misc. items if you wish
  • insure you're running the same version of Android as the ROM you wish to flash
  • put the ROM zip file on your phone without unzipping it
  • flash the ROM with your recovery according to that ROM's instructions
When flashing your ROM, you should read the entire post where you found it. Follow their directions precisely. In the case of Molten:
- Must be on Rooted 2.3.4 SBF or OTA
- Boot into Bootstrap
- Make a Backup (Optional)
- Wipe Data
- Wipe Cache
- Wipe Dalvik Cache
- Install Zip from SDCard
- Reboot and Enjoy!
Since you're stock, you should be at 2.3.4 already, check the About Phone part of your settings to insure this. The rest are all options in Bootstrap. You'll find the Dalvik cache in the Advanced settings. Read through what you need to do and let us know if anything doesn't make sense or is unclear before you flash if you wish.
