Root Custom rom installation failed

Hello, i am new to this forum.

I have got a htc desire (gsm)

I've got into some trouble trying to install a custom rom on my desire.

First I rooted with revolution, this worked fine, my desire is rooted and S-off. Then I tried to instal cool 3d v3 as custom rom (i did a wipe before). got me in a bootloop. Tried to restore with ruu.exe, after that i couldn't get in to recovery anymore, just hboot/fastboot. Then i created a goldcard, put pb99img on it after formatting, took all steps. it said completed.. after reboot i didn't get past the bootscreen. Tried another custom rom, insertcoin, now i can't get beyond 3 droids on skateboards. (not the hboot menu, they are in the center, no text) Can get into recovery though.

Any idea how i can get my desire back to it's original state, or working on with a custom rom?"

You really need to visit the root forum and read the FAQs, because it's important to understand what you are doing here. It's probably best that this thread is moved to the root section (I'll contact the mods in a minute).

What you should have done (info for next time) is take a nandroid backup (backup from recovery) before flashing a ROM, and if there's a problem restore that rather than involving RUUs. That keeps everything simple and safe.

An RUU will remove your custom recovery if it runs successfully, so not being able to get into recovery after running that is unsurprising. But then I don't understand how you tried to install the second ROM after attempting both RUU and PB99IMG? Did you run revolutionary again or something?

But OK, if you can really get into a custom recovery then I'd suggest doing a complete wipe and installing a basic rooted stock ROM like this one (init.d version, not one with a radio). That should give you something safe and stable while you learn what you've done wrong. Of course if you did actually take a nandroid backup, you should restore that instead.

If you cannot get into a custom recovery to flash it, please tell us exactly what you've done, i.e. every detail, and describe exactly what you can and cannot do, what the hboot and recovery screens look like, etc. You may think you've done this, but as you can see I'm unsure what state your phone is in, so more information may help.

Always read the first couple of posts of a ROM thread to check if they have any special requirements - Sense 2 or 3 ROMs, for example, require an extra ext format partition on the SD card, which in the absence of other information would be my first guess at why your ROMshave not worked.
