Custom sms tones

Hi all

Just got my Hero and wondering are there any apps to allow you to specify different sms tones for individual contacts? Would be nice if I could switch off alerts from certain contacts, and give custom tones to individual contacts?

You can give custom ringtones to contacts, I don't think there's a way to do that with notification tones.

I appear to have answered my own question - it seems you can attribute sms tones using handcent, however when using handcent do you have to turn off the standard text messaging program? They appear to conflict by playing the custom tone & the default tone at the same time?

Go to the default messaging app, goto settings and untick Ntofications. That shoudl stop any conflicts
