Root custom splash screen

on my inc,i used to use unrevoked's "set your phone free" splash screen. i figured i could prolly whip somethin up for the TB ifn i could find an IMG file to use. not too big a deal, but a neat lil custom touch. :) i happened across this thread on xda: Make your own splash -- HOW TO - xda-developers and decided to give it a shot.

i downloaded the splash flasher and stock spash screen from the bottom of the post and added "quietly rooted" under the green htc letters,so now my splash screen looks like this:

ill try and think of somethin a lil more clever, but for now just wanted to do somethin quick for sh*ts and giggles.

i thot others may want to give it a shot, but as always,be EXTREMELY CAREFUL when flashing anything via an unlocked bootloader. this is the biggest potential you have for turning your phone into an unuseable paperweight

I used a black one with silver lettering which said "htC" for my Incredible, but I haven't been able to find it since I got my Thunderbolt. I may have to go back and explore those older threads for something awesome.

I have always wondered why more phones don't ship in the same state as the NookColor. You can boot things directly off of the SD card, making it near impossible to brick. This seems like a no-brainer to include.

sounds pretty sweet  im thinkin maybe a black background, keeping the green htc,and maybe changing "quietly rooted" to just "set free". im not a big fan of white anything on my phone ;)

from what ive read the nook honeycomb ports work much better when ran from emmc, but its more complex to get it there and working.

while it may not be practical or optimal to always run from the SD, i agree the option to would be nice... you could accidently fudge up everything on the emmc and just slip in an SD with a good OS and get yourself back on the road. but in that situation would you be able to get a working OS back to the emmc or is it then effed up forever, just the same?

edit:
just changed it to this:

im so used to a white spalsh screen on any phone ive had,i thot it might look wierd... but its crisp and looks nice on the phone. ima leave it at that for now... tho im still tyin to think of somethin simple, yet a lil different and clever
