Help Custom Text tones

I have been successful at loading and setting a custom ringtone. I put an mp3 file in the "notifications" folder and I see the tone i added and it plays back, but when I actually get a text message it uses a different tone.

Help?

download the zedge app, there's tons of text tones you can download

Open your text program > Press the menu button > Settings > Find something like "Notification Sound"

Is your new tone the one that's selected there?

I'll show you how my notifications tones are...

First, your SDHC card...

sdcardroot\media\audio\notifications

Second... here's where you make it work...

Press the "Personalize" button. Then scroll down to Notification sound. Open it.

There, you will find the 4 different notification tones you can change.
