Customising Drop-Down Menu?

I'm missing a few elements of TouchWiz a little more than I thought I would since getting the Nexus 5. The phone is incredible, obviously, but there's a few things which I don't understand why they aren't there.

- Is there a way of customising which icons appear in the drag-down menu from the top?
- WiFi, Airplane Mode, Brightness etc are all useful, but there's more room there for more useful things, like Mobile Data, Screen Rotation and NFC. I'm never going to use bluetooth for as long as I live (at least haven't yet), so why can't I remove that one???

It shouldn't take 10 seconds to turn screen rotation on/off, it should be instant.

And in my case, I use bluetooth almost every day but never use the screen rotation switch. I'm with you, I really don't get why they don't make this screen more configurable. I'm sure it will be fixed with rooting, but that shouldn't be necessary for something like this. My current phone, evo v, uses a mod called leedroid tweaks and it's great - you can even put your flashlight on/off in there, and a bunch of other customizations. I know this is vanilla android, but there should still be options, instead of just not having stuff that is very useful.

Yeah I have to say that this is the one feature that I find really weird/annoying that google has yet to implement. I really hate that I have to swipe down the notification menu, press the flip menu button, press the wifi icon and then press the on button to turn on wifi. Thats a total of 1 swipe and 3 button presses. It would be much easier if they just put the actual toggle into the notification menu.

There are always ROMS out there that have this option but the ROMS are never to my liking. I like just about everything in stock android except for this feature and I wish lockscreen widgets didn't exist. Whenever I find a ROM that has notification menu toggles it's always heavily themed or has a bunch of other tweaks in it that I don't want. The next best thing is to use toggle widgets which aren't that bad but take up screen real estate.

you can long press from the dropdown to enable wifi too. ;)

You can also eliminate one of the button presses by two finger swiping down from the top instead of 1 finger swiping to go straight to the quick settings. Thus making it one swipe and one long press to enable and disable wifi.
