Help Customising Lock Screen

Hello,
I'm new to the Android phone world, so this may be a simple question.
On my old Nokia, steam-powered phone, I used to have my home telephone number come up on the start-up screen. The theory was that, if I left my phone somewhere, and it was picked up by someone honest, they would telephone me at home.
Is there a way that I can do the same on the Desire S lock screen?
I have seen a couple of apps that seem to enable me to change absolutely everything, but I just want to add a few characters to what is already there.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

John

I don't think you can do anything to modify the standard lockscreen options with HTC Sense 3.0 ROM.

However, there are lockscreen apps on Android Market that you should be able to modify or personalise. I can't recommend any as I don't use them, but search Android Martket for 'lockscreen'.

The only way I can think of doing it in a rough-and-ready way is to use the Photo album lockscreen, and make a folder to contain one photo, which would be one of your phone number.

You could also unlock your phone's bootloader and root your phone to be able to fully customise your phone, install different ROMs with customisable boot and lockscreens, etc, but that might be overkill if my first suggestion is more than adequate for your needs.
