Customizable replacement for Desk Cradle app?

Go check out the same dock screen on a Motorola and you will break down and cry... I went and got the desk/car dock for my Fascinate and also got my son the desk dock on the same day. When we got home and I saw what he got as a home dock screen compared to me had me ready to hit the Fascinate with a hammer!

He gets three swipable pages of completely personalizable and customizable docked home screens while we get one completely useless and non user adjustable dock screen. What a sick joke Samsung played on us there. The car dock is no better.
 
I know there is a replacement for the stock Car Dock as well as a few 3rd party apps, but I have not seen one for the Desk Dock. Perhaps the same devs that created the modified car dock could work one up for this.
 
I'm using one called Bedside. Gives a nice dim (customizeable) clock and you can customize with music, alarm, and app shortcuts on the clock screen.
Still playing with it to see what apps I want to put on there. Haven't yet found anything as extensive as the CCH car dock replacement tho.

I have to concur with your conclusions on both apps. Thumbs up to both.

This is also what I'm using, and I like the black screen with the stars always scrolling past to help battle against screen burn, but even with the low light setting I wish the clock numbers where much less bright. If I could change the clock font to a medium grey or a brown color it would help darken the display a great deal, but you do not get this as a user config option. It is still the best simple bed time dock screen I have found to date.
 
Thanks for the suggestion about 'Bedside' I will give it a try. My problem comes from the update to Foyo 2.2 and using Desk Cradle. I like having it on during the night, acts like a night light for me and I just like being able to glance at the phone and seeing what time it is. 2.2 does not allow the screen to stay lite even though my phone is plugged into the wall charger. Samsung tech via keyboard told me it can't be done any more???? Any work around yet????

My Droid X dock screen does rock. I use it in the Moto Desk dock as my alarm clock. I haven't even tried using the dock function on my Fascinate, well because at the time, Samsung didn't have a dock to initialize it. I did use the kickstand case from VZW with it tho. One thing about moto is that they always have kick ass docking accessories for all of their phones.
