Root Customization?

I have just rooted my droid x2 for the first time yesterday. I have affinity rom up and running but I want to fully customize my phone ie icons, backgrounds, boot screen and whatever else you can do. How do I go about doing this? Thanks in advance.

Well, backgrounds are just your wallpaper. I highly recommend Wallpaper Wizardrii for resizing pics. Just install it, put whatever pic you want on your card, long press on a blank spot on a homepage, choose wallpaper, then choose Wizardrii.
Some themes have custom icons, check out the sticky guide for those. I'm running Liberty with the Poison Green theme, and it is green.
As far as the boot screen goes, I haven't messed around with it yet. I was planning on hunting around and gathering info on it for the guide in the next day or two.
As far as creating your own themes and icons and whatnot, mostly UOT Kitchen is used by the devs. I'm not familiar with it yet, but I'm planning to be fairly soon.

For the boot screen, head over to the market and get ROM Toolbox. It is an excellent tool worth the money. It allows you to customize various things, including the battery, network, 3g, wifi and a whole host of other status bar icons, as well as the boot animation. It was originally for the Liberty ROM, but it can be used with all ROMs now. Of course, the phone MUST be rooted.

The free version doesn't allow changing the battery icons, plus you can't preview the boot animations, but you can change boot animations.

The Pro version is worth the money if you ask me. jrummy has put a lot into this tool and it is a great addition to your tool box of tools for Android.

The free version is here -> TOM Toolbox (free)

The paid version is here -> ROM Toolbox Pro

I really like ROM Toolbox, but I've had a couple problems with the boot animation. Usually it works for me, but twice now it's completely borked things up, and I had to reflash. I'm a little gunshy yet about recommending it to folks new to flashing.
