Root Customize Notification Bar & color w/Black Plague

I just got done flashing the Black Plague Rom and it runs really nice. I just wanted to get some advice on customizing the color. I want to change it from blue to red. And also the same with the notification bar at the top. It looks fine I mainly just want to change the color on it also. Im a total noob and it took me all day to even get this ROM in place. If anyone could point me in the right direction I would so gladly appreciate it.

On another topic, I also downloaded Black plague straight from CWM and the download took about 300MB of space from my SD card. I guess that if I downloaded it through the Rom manager I don't need it anymore. So can anyone let me know how to delete it. Its just a .zip file that it extracted right? Where do I find it and get rid of it so its not taking up space. I might be wrong here but I'm assuming its useless space. Don't mean to be a brag about it but I usually take up a lot of space with movies, games, etc.

Use root explorer and scroll to sdcard, then go to clockworkmod/download and go through the folders til you get to the rom

changing the color isn't as easy as making a selection lol, depending on how deep you want to go it will take a lot of time and patience.. will need to decompile .apk's and edit xml (text) files etc.. gets really deep.. if this is something you would be interested in learning than feel free to use google, you'll be suprised how many guides you find etc.. for every little thing, and the best way to get good at it is to make mistakes, then learn from them to perfect your method.. hope this answer slightly helped you out

Lol it used to be real easy.....the price of ROM Toolbox lol. I think though on the latest update he took the option to change the color of the status bar out. There is only your symbols on the status bar that you can change the app now. Of course if you want to go changing that yourself it's best you learn how to do it properly. Everything I know how to do I learned by lurking through forums and scouring the web. I want to learn something and I study it until I have it down. There are times I will ask a question but normally after I've exhausted everything I could think of first. Before I found out about my new tumor growth I had decided to try my hand at learning to theme. I had great support from Shiney and kept telling him I needed to try on my own first....it would stick better if I did it on my own than have someone tell me how to do it. However it's been put on the back burner while chemo is going on because that's kinda kicking my ass. I'm not going to be sick forever though and I'll be back in the game I guess I'm just trying to stress that if you want to know how to do those kind of things your best bet is to jump in the deep end and read and learn everything you can and learn how to do it yourself. I lurk around these forums in all the other boards just when I see a post that sounds interesting or I think I might learn something. I take notes if it's noteworthy and it's paid off doing that obviously because I get PMs from people I don't know asking me questions. Okay, yes they mostly have to do with bootanimations lol but still, nobody taught me that...I taught myself by reading, downloading other bootanimations taking them apart and studying them. Jump in and have fun!!
