Help Customize text notifications on Photon

Any hints out there on how to customize the text notification on the Motorola Photon? Don't like any of the preloaded stock options..............Thanks

I use handcent which lets me customize ring tones, light color, light speed of it blinking, the background and color of texts and the notification in the notification bar.
