Cut your monthly payment by $10

Haha, I should try this! I've been trying to refer people. Nobody seems to care, or realize that this is a better deal than what they probably have..Oh well.

They are saying its not possible, but I got a free month of service. I will be calling back next month.

worked perfectly! Thanks for the tip! I've added a screenshot of my account proving that it worked.

How??? I called like 3 times and all the CSR say the $25 plan is not available.

It seems odd that some people cannot get this deal. Maybe it will help someone if I share my experience with this:

I called VM and told the first operator that I wanted my information because I was considering shopping for a new carrier. That got me transferred to a customer retention operator. That operator asked why I was looking to change carriers. I simply mentioned that I could move to T-Mobile’s $30 plan and save $5 a month. He asked if I would consider staying with VM if he changed my plan to $25, while still keeping 300 minutes. I responded with, sounds great and have a nice day. :D

I don't know if asking for the reduction is a good idea. I'm thinking just mentioning that you could save money by changing carriers is a better idea. Or maybe I got the deal because I did have the $25 plan on my Elite.

Of course, I only kept the plan for 3 months. Even with the great price, I just couldn’t stand the terrible VM’s data speeds around here. So now I have a Nexus 5 on Straight Talk (AT&T). Granted, it is $45 a month, but no more watching minutes and data speeds around me are awesome.

Does 4G LTE still work? I have the EVO and I noticed 4G winmax stopped working when I got changed over to the $25, but that's okay because my home area doesn't have winmax anyway. I only noticed it when I go to NYC every so often.

I called today and I am now on the $25 a month plan. My initial call was regarding porting, I told them I have been a customer of their service for 10 years and that I intended to switching to a carrier which offers better coverage and unlimited minutes for about the same price. I was transferred to an account specialist, who confirmed that the HTC EVO V 4G is compatible with the 25 dollar a month plan but only at 3G speeds. I seldom use 4G as its coverage is quite sparse in my area, so I am fine with it. He mentioned if I upgrade my phone to a newer model I will no longer be able to take advantage of this plan. So that is $140 a year I have just freed up, not too shabby.

So that's what the trade off is on the $25 plan. Well, since I do use 4G often, I'll just stick with the $35 plan.

I will also note that I was credited a month of service in addition to the $10 a month discount. I haven't experienced 4G enough to get hooked on it I suppose. I average around 1-2 Mbps on 3G which has been fine for most of my needs when when I am out and about and off wifi. I was considering switching providers in the future, but if I can keep this $25 a month plan I may keep using this service and phone for some time to come. The providers I had been considering were in the $40-45 range a notable mark up from $25 per month, granted they were unlimited everything, better coverage, and offered 4G LTE service. $35 a month for 300 minutes and using the inferior sprint network is no longer very competitive if you compare it to other virtual network offerings.

WiMax 4G is soon going the way of the dodo anyways;
