Root CWM backup problems

So I flashed the custom recovery and I did a backup. Now all of a sudden I have no space on my phone's internal memory . Where did the backed up files go? Can I delete them to restore the space on my phone? I guess I should have selected backup to external Sd card. It seems when I search under the data folder, there is over a gig of files in there.

Just move the WHOLE FOLDER (clockworkmod) to your ext sd.

If you post in a thread already created for this topic you will get more help. And, I will know right away if I need to make any changes.

Aha! I figured it out guys. Just have to delete the main folder with the date on it for the backup and then go into CWM and clear up free space from previous backups and my space was restored.
