CWM not installing ROM's/kernels/themes

ironass

Extreme Android User
I am using CWM (ClockWorkMod) v2.00.

I have noticed just recently that CWM Recovery is not allowing me to install all sorts of ROM's, kernels, updates and themes.

However, if I use the "traditional" method for Recovery...

Power off > Hold volume up + Home + Power > instal zip from sdcard > choose zip to install > navigate to desired zip > Home > Power > reboot

they all install fine.

Is anyone else encountering this problem or does CWM just hate me?

It definitely let me update the kernel via a TAR package a couple of days ago. I've not used anything other than that or the backup management features for ages, tbh. My "tinkering" recently has all involved Odin'ing stock firmwares onto the handset, rooting and backing them up, then restoring my working ROM. That went without a hitch.

I've between having problems aswell since siyah 1.7.7. It won't let me flash kernels and some revolution mods. Modems seem to flash ok though.

Good mornin mate. I meant the actual recovery not the app itself.

Sorry mate... I misunderstood.

In ROM Manager it says 4.0.1.5... if that makes sense?

UPDATE

That's possibly not what you were asking steslatt. I can't seem to find a Recovery version in CWM... however, it is Friday!

Yes it makes sense, rom manager installs a version CWM recovery. The CWM app is probably written for CWM recovery 4.0.0.2 only (the one that comes with CF-root).

To check your recovery version. Reboot into recovery and it should be at the top?

OK!

steslatt wins todays prize for, "Help the floundering idiot!"

There was a mismatch in Recoveries.

I, with steslatt's help, solved it simply by going to ROM Manager > All ClockworkMod Recoveries > selected 4.0.1.4

Just tried CWM Recovery and installed a theme with no problem.

Thank you everyone for your help and suggestions. I would buy each and everyone of you a drink... but as this is not possible... I will have one for each of you instead... as it's P.O.E.T.S. day today. Cheers! :D

I get this problem installing themes via the power menu.
My CWM Recovery is version 4.0.1.5

What is ROM Manager?
:o

I've not got that then so is there a way I could sort this issue without having to get rid of cwm recovery?

If you want to keep the siyah kernel I'm not sure. I flashed a different kernel and the problem was solved.

Can't get rid of me that easily syd!
I might try ninph again see what happens as I'm also getting wake lock and wifi issues ever since ki3
