Root ~~ CWM Recovery ~~ Working

RedBunnyJAV

Newbie
I used Rom Manager,...

Then under the recoveries section I used the LG - Lucid. I know this is a Viper but the model numbers were close 840,...

Then I just pressed reboot into recovery,...

-edit-

Now I seee why not to use Rom Manager. It didnt do the backup properly. It wouldnt save the /system folder ,.... couldnt mount it.

Check this out though:
CWM Recovery Builder

It says it just needs the stockrecovery.img

And thus this is why you are bricked. the other 840 devices have a diff partition table than the viper.

And no builder. is almost useless for CWM until one gets it buildable locally first (on their linux box). Most LG's require files that are not in the recovery.img. Once all those are figured out, built, tested, then I can get koush to fork the working repo and then I can build and publish it to make it official and have RM support.

Until I/we wtfe gets it working tho, there is no fully working CWM yet. I have it close, but ppl not will willing to risk testing etc, the process has about came to a halt. ;)

I didn't think the LG Lucid had the same layout and partitions as we do. But I have a feeling we will have a better shot of seeing a working CWM after we get the android 4.0.4 upgrade.

Could you tell me if he had the adb .img files could i adb push or do something in bash to get my system back to atleast running,.... I've tried the Lg Update tool,... the hack meathod of that tool and nothing is working

Thanks for the enthusiasm...unfortunately as PG stated...this was found out a while ago. Also PG...I'll test anything....bc my unbrick method I've, used over ten times already trying to find perfect build and local prop tweaks. @ redbunny....it works...there's a few steps ill break down further...message me. I guarantee you can get you're phone back to 100% stock.
