Root CWM restore on Bionic

I did a nandroid backup before I tried a new version of a rom, and when I wn to restore it, there were no files. Where in the bloody hell does one have to lace backups so they can be restored? (I'm sure this is all a result of the "which is the sdcard" nonsense.)

ROM Manager knows where they are but cwm doesn't have a clue. I would be so much happier if they both looked at the same place.

rom manager saves it to the internal sd and cwr saves it to the external. using astro or another file manager find the rom manager backup in sdcard/clockwork/backup and copy it to sdcard-ext/clockwork/backup. when you boot into cwr you will be able to find it to restore

Is our beloved Bionic the only phone with this internal "sdcard" and the real, external sdcard? Is it too much to hope that rom manager might allow the user's preferences of the sdcard to use? My ext card is empty but the internal is almost full.

Just copy the backup from /sdcard to /sdcard-ext.

And in the future, just don't use ROM Manager. The only thing, in my opinion of course, that it's good for is updating CWR and fixing permissions.

Actually, no, I've seen it happening on other model phones as well.

Also, backups made from within CWR itself (as in a manual backup generation) will not be seen by ROM Mgr's interface, but if you use ROM Manager to make the backup you can use ROM manager to also delete, rename, etc. If you cannot, double verify that you actually have CWR 5.0.2.5 installed - my phone said that it did in RM but the actual recovery on the phone was still 4.0.1.7 or something like that. One way to tell was to manually boot into recovery. There, while still blue (though a different shade) at the bottom it had the different version number. I rebooted the phone back to normal operating mode and then used RM to reflash 5.0.2.5

The benefit of using RM is that once you use RM to make the backup, it reboots into Recovery, makes the backup, and then reboots your phone back into normal operating mode. It allows for automation of these, including the scheduling built into the premium version, for incremental backups.
